Activation of the list of the names of our Departed Friends and Loved Ones

My late Mom handed me a shortlist of our dear departed family members, ie my grandparents, uncles, aunties, my older Bro, Samuel who died at the age of 7mos(please say a short prayer for him), cousins, etc. Included in the list were some of their late close friends too.  I was a young professional in my 20's working out of town when she gave the list to me.  It was a yearly tradition to go home during All Souls Day, November 2 and visit the cemetery to offer prayers for our departed loved ones.  The distance of my work place and the expense for the one-hour plane ride sometimes prevented me from going home on a yearly basis, hence, my late Mom gave me the list.

The 30-Day Novena for the Souls in Purgatory provided the necessary light of the things that needed to be done for the Mission. One of it was activating the list since part of the Novena's teaching was to remember to ones who have been forgotten and whom nobody prays for.  The shortlist from my late Mom numbered about 20plus. So, my wife and I added names as we remembered those not in the list.  New ones were added as the days passed. It's now five(5) years since we started the Apostolate and currently, our list has grown to 400plus names.
