During my first round of the 30-Day Novena for the Souls in Purgatory, my late childhood cousin, Victor was the first in coming to mind when I reached the teaching portion about remembering those whom we have forgotten and for those whom nobody prays for. Victor died at an early age of 17 due to tuberculosis contracted from her late mother, the older sister of my late Mom. The last time I played with him was before we transferred residence when I was 7, he was 8 years old. I didn't get the chance to see him again from that time on.
After him, a train of names of my deceased close relatives and friends flashed into my mind. Their names were then added into the list my late Mom handed me. At that point, I thought I already had a good recollection. But, little did I know that this was the start of God's incremental way of bringing those I have totally forgotten and allowing them to make contact with me and my family, or a close encounter I should say. So, I was in for some good surprises each time when more names came one after the other.
Friends, please offer a short prayer for my late cousin, Victor. Thank you and may God bless you and your family...most especially the Souls in Purgatory whom you pray for.
